Paul Byron Starr, a partner with the firm, was born and raised in San Antonio and graduated cum laude from Baylor University in 1995 with a double major in Marketing and Business Statistics.  He received his J.D. from Baylor School of Law in 1997. Paul is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. He is a member of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel and has been published in Texas Lawyer Magazine. Paul was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, a Thompson Reuters publication, in 2010-2013. He is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell.

Since 2001, Paul has focused upon all facets of civil litigation with emphases on construction litigation, personal injury and wrongful death defense, medical malpractice defense, commercial litigation, and the administrative defense of licensed healthcare and other professionals before state licensing boards and the State Office of Administrative Hearings. Paul is also responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, filing and defending mechanic’s liens, as well as commercial collections.

Paul also practices in the areas of administrative law, civil litigation, commercial litigation, estate planning and probate, premises liability, products liability, professional malpractice defense and torts.
